Went to town for a haircut.

Harvested buckets of pears & processed them. It was a long day but we now have 5 gallons of finished product.

Installed the canopy on the smaller tractor after applying ReJex to it.

Researched a new smart phone as my old one's service is being phased out. The new Motorola is on order, as is a rugged case & new micro SD card for it. I hate spending money on this kind of stuff... third world problems.

We portioned out the processed pears into containers & got them in the freezer. Tomorrow we will pop them out of the containers & vacuum pack them.

Made bread.

Put the flags back up.

Refilled the hummingbird feeders.

Watered the hanging baskets.

Made a couple of pear strudels, 1 for us & the other for our neighbors.

Did the weekly shopping & topped off Mrs. Ranch's Jeep with ethanol-free.

Vacuum packed all the processed pears.

Seasoned up 5 pounds of pork ribs that I put on the smoker for next few days suppers. Meat prices are insane...

Refilled the hummingbird feeders.

Made split peas/potato soup for my next 4 breakfasts. Yeah, I'm kind of weird, LOL!!!

Made stuffed jalapenos.

We had a brief shower this afternoon, totaling 0.06".

We always have a ton of them here. It is not uncommon for us to go through 40-50 pounds of sugar per season. I just filled the feeders this morning & as you can see, they're for the most part, empty. I just took these through the front window & every feeder up is swarmed:

'Bird Watchers of America' said the average hummer consumes .46 ounces of nectar per day, so using that formula (224 ounces divided by 0.46 per day) we estimate that there are 487 birds here right now.

At the peak of the migration we will have about 1000 birds per day (based on previous years).

Put up 6 additional hummingbird feeders & refilled the rest of them, it took 3+ gallons today. 16 of our 24 feeders are now up.

Made a pound cake for dessert.

Burned the trash.

Worked on setting up the new smart phone.

Refilled the hummingbird feeders.

Pretty much got the phone configure the way I want it, so I went ahead & switch the service to it.

Now I'm just waiting on UPS to deliver more ammo...

Wow, that cold front really dropped the temperatures!!! Yesterday morning was cool, but this morning is almost cold... 55 degrees. I guess the hummingbirds will be gone by the time the sun comes up. UPDATE: Yeah, only about 30 birds flying here now.

Receive the magnetic phone mounts for the vehicles.

The issue then become where to mount them. As all the vehicles have a leather-like finish plastic dash (which is not a good surface for adhesion), I picked convenient spots for us & used a 1" 'Forstner Bit'' to cut an 1/8"deep smooth surface to accommodate the aluminum bases. I'm now waiting to see if the supplied 3M tape holds them, if not I'll use my go-to adhesive (Lexel) which bonds to anything. I also mounted one on the tile wall of the kitchen desk where I'll charge our phones.

Other than the above, I sat on the porch drinking margaritas, enjoying the cool weather with Mrs. Ranch & playing football with Dieter. Life is good!!!

Did the weekly grocery shopping, heavy on the meat.

Vacuum packed the meat for freezing.

Stopped at the propane shop to order another 1K gallon underground tank, but the boss wasn't there. That will have to wait until Monday.

Made a gallon of BBQ sauce & bottled it up, as we were out.

Made German Rouladen for our supper (enough the next few days, LOL!!!). This was the last of the spring red potatoes as the remaining ones will be planted next week.
