Going for it

I bought the seed on Thursday and bought 400 pounds of compost and composted manure today.

I have three pounds of a mix of:
Park Bluegrass - supposed to be fast germinating
Bluegrass
Fescue - forgot the variety

I have another 1.5 ish pounds of a Penninton blend for fast lawns
60% annual Rye
20% perennial rye
20% fescue

I watered the existing lawn area about an hour ago - 1/2 inch of water - to help get the ground workable again. I didn't intend to water that much and hope I didn't over water it and make it muddy.

I plan on starting this in two or three hours.

Here's the one week update. As I mentioned I only steel raked it so the existing grass stayed. I have been watering it about 0.25 inch once or twice daily depending on sun and temp.

At this point you can just see some of the new grass emerging. I am sure this will be the annual rye.
