Hi I live in Georgia and planted my germinated sunflower seeds over 3 weeks ago, they ground is mostly red clay so I have mixed in a mixture of garden soil, bark and some sand when I planted them. They are growing...but very slowly!! Now I noticed they all have damage to the leaves. How can I identify and fix this issue. Please help. I’m determined to have sunflowers along the fence. They only get direct full afternoon sun for about 4-5 hours. Any advice??

Sunflowers do best in full sun. It's likely that they'll get leggy and not look very nice in that spot. I'd transplant them to a spot that gets full sun.

Ok thank you

I agree that they might need more sun. They also appear to have pests. Keep an eye out for little bugs eating the leaves. Check under the leaves too. You might want to consider pesticides or getting some ladybird beetles to ward off pests.
