was wondering what do you have in your vehicles while traveling during winter time ..
i feel for all the people who have been caught in this weird weather.

2. never let the fuel tank get below half.
3. 2 blankets,gloves hats
4. first aid kit
5. snack bars
6.charger for phone
7. something to drink
8. folding shovel
9. flares/ flashlight
10. tp

Oi this is a good question. Things are a bit more extreme where I live so prep is a much more serious issue.

Winter Prep
1. 10mm Delta Elite, Ar-15, 20 gauge, 2000rds of ammo
2. Arctic Sleeping bags
3. Propane torch- A must have once fingers are cold there is no starting a fire
4. Emergency Food bars- simple to pack and high caloric and fat content
5. Candles (candle in a snow shelter can raise the temp over 25 degrees!
6. Winter boots, Leggings, Sweatshirts, Hats, Gloves, Extra Socks More than 1 of each in case you get wet
7. Hatchet, Knifes, Fire starters(wax or fat)- Mini duraflame logs are awesome for this purpose!
8. Water 3/4 full in metal canteen- can be heated and melted once frozen just leave room for expansion
9. Saw- I carry a hand saw and a small chainsaw at all times
10. Winter goggles- if you have ever had to walk a distance in a blizzard these are a must
11. Snow shovel
12. Bags of sand and ice melt and or cat litter (traction if stuck)
13. Led Flashlights several of them
14. Fire starter flint
15. Compact 2 man tent and tarps
16. 1 gallon of gas
17. Emergency radio
18. Iron Phosphate hand warmers and kidney warmers
19. Tire inflaters, electric and canned sealants
20. Road Flares and Flare gun
21. Bright Yellow or Orange vest- in heavy snow it's good to be seen!!!

Sounds like a lot of stuff but when you don't have something it could change the entire outcome!

Everything is a "Travel" here. Just to go to town it's 60 miles each way, Big town 110 Each Way, Airport 6 hour drive. It's very remote and sparsely populated here. One has to be prepared even going to the Store!!
Also there is only 1 Hwy in and out of this area. 8 Times this winter the Hwy was closed due to drifting/falling snow. If you get stuck in the middle there is nothing around to shelter in.
