Members, I managed to find the right mango's to grow. Did everything right. Accept, for some reason, right at an inch above soil , they die. Out of 4 seedlings, one survived. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I must have been lucky but the first one I tried worked and it looked great for about a year. That was back in my bedroom when I was in high school. The tree did great and was about 16" tall with several leafs when my dad's Boston Terrier ate it.

The first one that I tried was also a lucky one because it survived until my cat got interested with it. I was growing it in a pot covered by plastic bag. It is needed owing to the fact that mangos are exotic plants and they need quite high temeperatures. I remember that I was watering it very often but I don't know if it was every day or 2 days. Do you buy mangos seeds or do you have your own from fruits?

My wife often shops at the Asian Supermarket store. They often have several type of mangos for sale (fresh) prodomintely from Southeast Asia. Super sweet. She would dry out the seeds, so that I could start the germination process. Here in Texas, it's really hot and humid. My sprinkler system is set early morning AM (5 am) everyday. I managed to have 4 came to root, right about 1-2 inches above soil and they die. just one made it. These are some of the varieties that we have .
