too late to direct seed broccoli

I am new to broccoli.

Is it too late to direct seed broccoil?

I am growing "Gypsy" which has 58 days to maturity listed on the pack. My average first frost date Oct 15 so about 75 days to frost. We're past the typical hottest part of the summer and it has been a cooler to average season but who knows what midwest US weather will bring.

In your area it may be but for me it isn't broccoli is a cool weather plant. I would try it I always try then let the rest of us know! I have found that alot of times growing seed is a very local responce and I would get things my friends only a few miles down the road wouldn't If the cost of the seeds is an issue then just do a few.
