The new HVAC company's owner came out to look at his projects. Work will commence on Mon/Tues.

Refilled the chlorine tank for the septic system.

Treated the fire ant mounds in the yard before cold weather drives them deep.

Picked up a load of cattle feed.

Did the weekly shopping.

Made a pot of pinto beans.

Made 2 pear strudels for our desserts.

Fed the cattle.

Got the Christmas tree out & put it up.

Cleaned the greenhouse in preperation for moving the plants into it.

Started refurbing the shovel I use for the smoker.

Clean & reverse the ceiling fans for the winter.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets.

Put the insulated covers on the hose bibbs.

Planted cilantro, green onions & radish in planters in the greenhouse. Also cut back the chives & top dressed them.

Septic system guy came out to replace a circuit breaker that keeps tripping.

HVAC guy called to say they would be here tomorrow.

Went to visit with the widow of one of my close friends, it felt kind of awkward without him there, but maybe it was just me...

Made a pound cake for our desserts.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

A light rain is falling here (0.32" thus far).

The HVAC guys are here again doing their thing... They finished the duct work & tomorrow we hope to accomplish the reconfiguation of the generator.

A light, misting rain is falling here.

Installed the insulated window covers in the greenhouse & moved the porch plants in to it. Then put the heater & oscillating fan it. Now we're ready for the freezing weather.

Guys came to reconfigure the propane connection to the generator. We should be good for next service call.

Made a peach cobbler for the kids & threw in a gallon of vanilla ice cream too.

Still a chilly 51 degrees here, with a light rain (0.32" thus far).

Formed the ground sirloin into burgers.

Continued working on the bumper of my Jeep. I got the skim coat finished & 2 coats of primer on it.

Warmer here today, it's up to 73 degrees.

Vacuum packed the burgers from yesterday & the chicken breasts.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

The cold front is here, it's a chilly 56 degrees with a stiff north wind...

Started a loaf of sourdough bread for tomorrow.

Drained the irrigation system & turned on the heat lamps in the well house as they're now saying that we have a freeze alert for the next couple of nights...

Haven’t seen him for a while so it took a while to catch up. We try to out do each other on “sea stories” while in the Navy.

It's a cold 30 degrees here this morning, our 1st freeze of the season (3 days early).

Sliced the 2 loaves of sourdough bread that I made yesterday.

Seasoned up a pork shoulder for Mexican pulled pork.

Made a pot of pinto beans.

Went to town to get a haircut, then did the weekly shopping.

Watered everything in the greenhouse.

I've been lurking and not posting much. Been a busy holiday season so far. My small tax write off business that I started has turned out to be pretty successful.. now I'm worried I'll have to pay even more taxes.. lol
My brother had a heart attack the day before thanksgiving so I've been looking after him a lot..
My winter garden is thriving on neglect.. Love the raised boxes and auto watering system.
