Watered the stuff in the greenhouse, garden & front trees.

Made a lemon/poppy seed birthday cake for our granddaughter. She came down (with her boy friend) to open gifts & pick up her cake. She's taller than me now too.

Found a cottonmouth on the back porch this morning (he did not survive the encounter).

Went to LaGrange for a haircut, then did the weekly shopping, hit the package store & fueled up Mrs. Ranch's Jeep.

Watered the garden, porch pots, hanging baskets & the stuff in the greenhouse.

Formed the ground sirloin into hamburger patties. Guess what's for supper tonight??? Grilling.gif

Watered the garden, backyard trees, porch pots, hanging baskets & the stuff in the greenhouse.

Seasoned up a pot of pinto beans for tomorrow.

Applied the anti-dust tape to the 8 panels for the doors of the new greenhouse.

Watered the garden, backyard grass & the stuff in the greenhouse.

Made the pot of pinto beans.

Finished the assembly of the back door wall of the new greenhouse. Also got 1 set of sliding the doors done.

Grandson came down to visit after returning from west Texas. He said he shot a fox the night he arrived. He also sent me his pictures of a big boar he shot last night (I'm guessing ~ 300 lbs!!!). He looks pretty tired in that picture...

Watering the garden every day but no rain and the heat is taking a toll: zucchini’s and cucumbers are dead. I would guess 95% of the corn has died. Too bad as it was really looking good. Tomatoes are very small. Still getting green beans and waiting on the black eye peas.

I've been getting 30 lbs or so of squash every other day. The cukes are about the same. Been making pickles like crazy.. selling them about as fast as I can make em. Tomatoes are starting to turn now.., I've picked 40 lbs out of there so far that went to salsa. First picking off of the Cream peas will be tomorrow. The wife and I are setting up at a "picklefest" at the karbach brewery in Houston today. It's almost too hot to do these things.. we may take a couple months off while it's scorching.

My kids have decided I need an outdoor griddle? They say pick one and it will be delivered. I had no clue what they were talking about until I googled/YouTube them. Anyone have one or had one?

Cut the grass ahead of the rain & the washed the garden tractor. No sooner than putting it away, we had a decent rain (0.68" thus far).

Cleaned the fan for the greenhouse & put it away. Almost time to start demolishing the old greenhouse to make room for the new one.

Harvested green peppers & japs.

Grandson came to feed the cattle & to tell me he shot another pig last night.

Dieter (and us) had a rough night with the thunder & lightning, but we received another 1.82" of rain. After it cleared out, it's a beautiful sunny day & the temperature is a pleasant 80 degrees.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets as they didn't get any rain.

Continued applying the anti-dust tape to the roof panels of the new greenhouse.

Grandson shot 3 more pigs last night, LOL!!! He's been having a good time!!!

Started a light rain this morning (0.04" thus far).

Made 2 loaves of Italian bread.

Continued applying the anti-dust tape to the panels of the new greenhouse. This is a slow & tedious job, so I assembled 2 of the 3 roof vents to break the monotony.

It started raining pretty steady here just at daybreak (0.87" thus far).

Finished applying the anti-dust tape to the panels of the new greenhouse. THAT part of the job was mindnumbing...

Grandson got another big pig last night. He's been enjoying his first week of summer break, LOL!!!

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets as they didn't get any rain.

Started taking inventory of the remaining parts of the new greenhouse to see what's missing.

Harvested our first full bucket of tomatoes. Since it's only a bucket, I'll roast them prior to freezing.

Made a double batch of Pryaniki per Mrs. Ranch's request. We'll bake them tomorrow.

Ran to town to get my perscriptions.

Mrs. Ranch baked the Pryaniki & I glazed them.

Grandson got 3 more hogs last night & came to show us his pictures. He's having fun for sure!!!

Been watching this woodpeck for the last 3 days, I'm guessing she identifies as a hummer LOL!!! There is always something new to see here...
