Mixed up a batch of potting soil & filled the starter pots for the spring planting. Almost time to get the seeds started...

Sprayed the Genesis grill with oven cleaner.

Took Dieter to the vet. He's injured his left rear leg again...

Top dressed the Crape Myrtles with the remaining dirt to free up the wheelbarrow.

Watered the plants in the greenhouse.

It was cold & windy this morning... Supposed to be 27 degrees tonight.

Made a loaf of buttermilk bread.

Cut 2 whole pork loins into 1" thick chops & vacuum packed them.

Drained the irrigation system & plugged in the heat lamps in the wellhouse.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay for them.

Yesterday I picked up a load of feed & fed the cattle.

Made a molasses cake for our desserts.

Watered the stuff in the greenhouse.

Killed a huge fire ant mound that moved into the wellhouse to stay warm.

Went to town to pickup jalapenos & buttermilk.

Made a birthday cake for the grandson & took his present down to him.

Plugged the heat lamps in for the wellhouse.

Fed the cattle.

The nasty weather should arrive ~1400 hrs.

Waiting for a delivery of propane. Was told they would be here Wednesday. I know they are overwhelmed. Everything covered and plenty of firewood. Now to sit here for the next two to three days.

The temperature is 24 degrees, with a 15 MPH north wind. It's raining, although I have no idea how much due to the rain gauge being frozen. With the accumulated ice, it's slicker than snot on the driveway. Tomorrow's low is suppose to be 19 degrees & the next day they're saying 15 degrees.

Made a loaf of Italian bread.

Made a big batch of Pryaniki (Russian honey spice cookies) that I'll bake tomorrow.

Grandson came to feed the cattle for us.

Its a chilly 26 degrees this morning, but at least the wind has died down. It got up to 61 by the end of the day... too late for me to do anything.

Yesterday I did the weekly shopping.

Fed the cattle.

Watered the plants in the greenhouse.

It was a beautiful weather day, the temp hit 70 degrees with blue skies. Tomorrow we'll be back to the cold...

Made a pot of lima beans.

Received my seeds & planted a flat of jalapenos.

It was 33 degrees for a low & made it up to 48 degrees this afternoon. Winds were 10 - 18 MPH all day.

Put the flat of jalapenos in the greenhouse & watered all the plats as needed. That's all I did.

It was 25 degrees for a low & made it up to 57 degrees this afternoon. Winds were 5 -8 MPH out of the west so we will be warming up.

Did computer maintenance on my computer & made a full backup.

Put out another roll of hay for the cattle.

Planted cilantro & put them in the greenhouse.

Our rescue group recovered a boat yesterday with two teenagers aboard. The were in a very dangerous place, especially in the winter. Hypothermia has taken several lives in this area. They weren't even close to dressed or prepared for a 32-degree night. After tearing their asses up and educating them we pulled them to safety20260201_172137.jpg
