Dieter woke us up at 0200 hrs due to the lightning, thunder so I'm tired (we received 1.10" thus far) with more expected.

Gave Mrs Ranch a pedicure per her request.

Installed 4 of the 5 new insulated hose bib covers as I'll probably be running around doing last minute stuff when the first freeze eventually arrives.

Clean all the remaining hummingbird feeders for storage.

Replaced the backup batteries in the smoke detectors.

Seasoned up chicken breasts for our suppers. I don't know whether I'll be putting them on the smoker or cooking them inside yet as the incoming cold front's arrival time will determine that... Well the front has arrived, so inside cooking it is.

Treated the fireant mounds that sprang up in the back yard.

Put out another roll of hay for the cattle.

Brought the trailer over to the house so I can give it a good cleaning & retreat it with Thompson's water seal this week.

We went to vote this morning.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets.

The trailer deck was dry enough, so I reapplied the Thompson's Water Seal this afternoon.

Greased the wheel bearings on the trailer & fixed the license plate light.

Refilled the salt hopper for the water softener.

Grandson came to feed the cattle & to drop off the head of the 8-point buck he shot in west Texas last weekend (he also took a spike the same day). We will be skull mounting it together so he learns how to do it. I ain't gonna live forever...

It's was a more moderate 50 degrees this morning & it made it up to 83 this afternoon.

Harvested the remaining japs in the garden (~ a gallon) before pulling the plants up. Then pulled the all the stakes & got them stowed away.
