Dieter woke us up at 0200 hrs due to the lightning, thunder so I'm tired (we received 1.10" thus far) with more expected.
Gave Mrs Ranch a pedicure per her request.
Installed 4 of the 5 new insulated hose bib covers as I'll probably be running around doing last minute stuff when the first freeze eventually arrives.
Clean all the remaining hummingbird feeders for storage.
Replaced the backup batteries in the smoke detectors.
Seasoned up chicken breasts for our suppers. I don't know whether I'll be putting them on the smoker or cooking them inside yet as the incoming cold front's arrival time will determine that... Well the front has arrived, so inside cooking it is.
Greased the wheel bearings on the trailer & fixed the license plate light.
Refilled the salt hopper for the water softener.
Grandson came to feed the cattle & to drop off the head of the 8-point buck he shot in west Texas last weekend (he also took a spike the same day). We will be skull mounting it together so he learns how to do it. I ain't gonna live forever...
Closed up the wellhouse after ops checking the heat lamps.
Made a template for (8) 1/4" steel plates that I need cut & drilled for mounting the tire straps/chocks on the trailer (for when I transport the Defender).
It's was a chilly 34 degrees this morning, but it made it up to 73 this afternoon.
Replaced the 3 fly strips in the garage.
Cut & sanded the window shelf supports for the new deer stand that our grandson is building & Mrs. Ranch made him camouflage curtains to cover his windows. He came by after school to pick everything up & to feed the cattle for us.
