Watered the garden & asparagus bed before the wind kicks up yet again. This is getting old...

Also watered the porch pots & hanging baskets.

Made a spice cake with sour cream frosting for dessert.

Watered the garden, asparagus bed & the trees/lirope in the front yard. We need a couple of inches of rain...

Prepped a pork sirloin roast (along with potatoes, carrots onions & celery) that we'll have for supper tonight.

Replaced 7 jalapeno plants & 1 cherry tomato plant in the garden.

Rained about daybreak here & more is forecast for later in the afternoon. Update: The winds shifted out of the north about 1330 hrs & the rain began in earnest (1.70" thus far)

Made pork stock from the carcass of the sirloin roast.

Replaced 3 more tomatoes due to the wind breakage. I'm now out of 'spares'. Tied them all to their stakes.

Also reseeded the green beans as needed.

Half the onions have fallen over, so I pulled & laid them out in the party barn to cure. They are not as large as I had hoped.

Tried to clean another flowerbed, but it too is wet.

Mrs. Ranch's computer was hosed this morning, so I had to work on that before I was allowed to do anything...

I planted 2 oregano plants & mulched them. Pretty poor showing as I started 20 of them.

Washed my Jeep.

Started the 'begining-of-the-month' chores.

Made bread.

Watered the pots on the back porch & the hanging baskets on the front porch.

Continued mulching the garden.

Pulled more onions that had fallen over & put them with the others.

Harvested some radishes for a cold side dish to go with tonight's supper.

Cut the grass.

My garden is in the dumper. I top dressed everything with $300 worth of ‘garden soil’ from Living Earth. Lol, they should call it dying earth. I suspect major Ph issues and nutrient lockout. What a ripoff, never again. I could grow better vegetables in ditch dirt and that’s not an exaggeration.

Made bread.

Watered the garden & asparagus. Then dusted the plants with Bt to kill the caterpillars.

Did the weekly shopping. 8.5% inflation my butt... For example, well house filters went from $9.99 to $16.88. Diesel fuel went from $4.00 to $5.59 per gallon (the truck fill up was just under $200!!!). I figure the rioting & subsequent revolt against the government's stupid policies has got to be getting close...

Went to get a brisket this weekend. Lol. So then I looked at baby back ribs. Haha. So then I looked at St Louis cut rubs. Omg. Ended up with some "cheap" spare ribs. They turned out pretty good though and that will be my go-to for BBQ for the unforeseen future.
