Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets, as 'hotter-than-hell week' is in it's full glory (heat index hit 118 degrees today)...

Our new HVAC company came out to check both A/C units.

Made a 'back-to-school' cake for the grandkids. Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting should put a smile on their faces, LOL!!! Hard to believe the girl is now a junior & her brother is about to enter high school...
No kidding, the boy started HS today. Spent about 30 minutes with him yesterday going through the "do's and don'ts" of first year in HS.

Watered the porch pots & hanging baskets, another scorcher day...

Did the weekly shopping.

Received the OEM front wheel bushings for the garden tractor so I got them installed. After greasing everything, it's back in business.

Started the dough for my 1st attempt at making English muffins.

Watered the trees/grass, as well as the porch pots & hanging baskets.

Formed the ground sirloin that I got yesterday into 30 burgers (1/3 pounders).

The heat index is 124 degrees right now.

Mowed the grass in spurts yesterday.. partly because its HOT and partly because the right transaxle on my stupid mower keeps heating up and flaking out on me. The wife actually came out and weedeated about 3/4 of the yard.. Shocked.. Gonna take it easy this weekend and piddle around the house. Got a bunch of stuff that I've been putting off that needs to get done.
Made pizzas for dinner last night. I bought one of those pellet fed small pizza ovens and it's great! takes no time to cook a pizza. Now I'm on a mission to make a pizza dough comparable to the ones we had in Italy.. had to order 00 flour and the right yeast.. I'm almost there but not quite.

Got grapple installed and working. It's going to be a real labor saver. I got all of my destroyed well house gathered with it and hauled down to a pile. Got about 10% of my trees cut up. I am going to rent a JLG so I can get up to the stuff that is way too high to reach. Our heat and humidity have been brutal here too...../

Started watering the grass at daybreak... we need a good tropical storm.

It's so hot, I didn't even bother to check the mail... It's currently 103 degrees on the back porch & the heat index is 116 degrees.

I have gained in my efforts to get these trees cut up. I have one more that will take the JLG to get all the tall limbs down. Heat has been brutal. Sweat gallons and try to keep it replaced. I'll be glad when I am caught up a little around here.......

Continued watering the grass at daybreak, then did the pots, hanging baskets, aparagus & trees again.

Made a pear pie for our dessert.

I didn't do much today, as it is currently 103 degrees & the heat index is 125 degrees... the barometric pressure has been falling most of the day, so hopefully it will be cooler tomorrow & we can put this year's 'hotter-that-hell week' behind us.

Finished mowing. It’s so dry, a match would burn up every thing. Neighbor to my south has been burning brush piles. One was close to our property lines. I have been watching it since he isn’t.

Only able to do some wood cutting and stacking. Home Dept JLG took a crap and the mechanic couldn't get it fixed. I got 2 days out of a week rental They don't have any more to rent right now. They did make the price right. Guess I will have to wait for my next long weekend.......

Made a lemon cake with lemon frosting.

Harvested the last of the jalapenos.

Seasoned up a couple of chicken breasts with my Mexican rub that I'll put on the smoker for tonight's supper.

Dentist this morning and I'll work from home the rest of the day. Got 40 lbs of cucumbers that I need to turn into pickles some time this afternoon.
