Received the 6 new ranch gate wheels. Disassembled to greased them thoroughly & reassembled them. They are now ready to go.

Finished repotting the last 3 hanging baskets. I'll move them into the greenhouse as we are expecting freezing/windy weather tomorrow & Sunday night.

Moved the heater & fan into the greenhouse.

Put out 2 rolls of hay for the cattle.

Repotted the 4 spider plants & watered everything again.

Installed the insulated window covers in the greenhouse & moved the plants into it. Looks like the cold front will hit around 1800 hrs tonight. I going to miss the 70 degree mornings.

Watered the garden & asparagus bed before turning off the main irrigation supply & draining the system. Then put the insulated covers on all the hose bibbs. Lastly, I turned on the well house light & the heater in the greenhouse.

It's currently still 80 degrees at 1645 hrs... The forecast says 31 tonight & then 46/27 tomorrow. The wind has already shifted & will ramp up to 20-40mph.

Well, both Saturday & last night were colder than they forecasted. Yesterday's cold absolutely sucked (23 degrees) so it was a good day to close out the financials for '21 & get set up for this year. I also ordered my seeds for the spring garden, which I'll get started about Feb. 1st.

Start the 'begining-of-the-month' chores.

Research a gun part for my lil' buddy down the road.

Went to get my lab work done in preparation for my yearly checkup.

Cleaned up the porch pots & started weeding the onion row in the garden.

Refilled the redbird feeders.

Made a pot of pinto beans. I'll make ranch rice later.

Seasoned up the chicken fajita meat that will be grilled for supper.

Replaced the batteries in all our watches.

Ordered 4 replacement back porch chair cushions.

Got my yearly checkup & the doc said I'm good For another year.

Picked up garden fertilizer (25% higher in price than the last time I bought it).

Another cold front just rolled in... it was 61 degrees this morning, now it's 54 degrees & dropping.

Remove 2 doors in the guest house & stripped the hardware of them in preparation for painting.

Put out another 2 rolls of hay for the cattle.

On the chilly side here (52 degrees) , so I'll putter some more inside today...

I lightly sanded & wiped down the interior doors I took down in the guest house the other day. Then applied a coat of primer to them in preparation for painting.

On the chilly side here (50 degrees), so Mrs. Ranch is giving me a day off by making a big pot of chili.

Pulled the Canadian bacon pork loins out of the curing solution this morning & then soaked them in fresh water before trussing them up in butcher string (to keep them round in shape) in preparation for smoking tomorrow.

Replaced the batteries in all the remotes for the gates & the garage door openers.

This morning I got the Canadian bacon on the smoker over apple wood coals running at 225 degrees.

Watered everything in the greenhouse.

Burned the trash.

Put out 2 more rolls of hay for the cattle.

Sprayed 'Scotchgard' on both sides of the new outdoor chair cushions.

You may want to do it tomorrow as the weather this weekend is suppose to suck.. 53/33 & 55/34. The wind will also be a factor: "Winds NNW at 25 to 35 mph. Higher wind gusts possible".

Did the weekly shopping, surprisingly I got everything on the list this week.

Sliced the Canadian bacon & Mrs. Ranch vacuum packed it. I saved all the 'burnt ends' to throw in with cabbage for my breakfasts!!!.

Weather here sucks... 48 degrees with 15-20MPH winds.

Started applying the finish paint to a couple of doors in the guesthouse.

Weather still sucks here... 48 degrees, but at least the winds is down to 7-10 MPH & the sun is out.

I'm making beef sirloin stew for supper tonight. I harvested a couple of kohlrabi & some carrots from the garden to throw in it (along with some potatoes, onions, green beans & celery).

Refilled the redbird feeders as they have been hitting them hard due to the colder temps.

Watered everything in the greenhouse.
