Guys I need computer help as I am very challenged. I have an old computer and I bought a new printer. A tech was helping me connect (wireless) when he said my license had expired three days ago.He wanted $300 to renew it for 3 years. I told him I would get back to him. Is this a scam? I have windows 8.

I've never seen WIN8. I can set you up with Linux & you'll never look back!!! If you want to see the setup/'look & feel', you can come here & see ours.

No cost & easy to use/maintain compared to MS.

I really appreciate the offer. Unfortunately my traveling has been limited to doctors and hospitals for the last two months, caring for the wife. I see a Windows 11 home on Amazon for $119. Would that be a good buy?

Sounds like a scam to me.. Microsoft does charge for certain things though.. did he specifically say what license it was that had expired? As I recall, the only thing I pay for now annually is Microsoft office. As opposed to just upgrading windows, I'd just look at getting a new machine if you can swing it. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? You can find a software equipped laptop for not much more than upgrading software these days..

I ended up dropping the laptop off at a shop in Columbus. It was a scam. The guy said there is no license needed for a printer. I have Windows 10.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

Made a sirloin roast with onions, potatoes, celery & carrots for our suppers.

Mrs Ranch made a spice cake for our desserts.

Continued repainting the porch posts that I chauked earlier.

Cut the grass.

Watered the pots & hanging baskets on the porches.

Ordered blades & a few other parts for the garden tractor, it's almost that time of year...

Fed the cattle.

Finished spreading the remaining pea gravel in front of the garage.

Started spreading the select fill around the septic tank's sprinkler heads, the water troughs & the gate areas in the pastures.

Continued spreading the select fill. Finished the water trough areas, replacing the float valves/hoses & then partially refilling them to see how the settle. Also started filling in the armadillo burrows.

Got 2 lbs of pinto beans seasoned up & soaking for tomorrow. This is for the 'boys' as I expect them to get in late from their west Texas hunt.

Put out another roll of hay ahead in the rain.

Continued spreading the select fill around the stone walls. I had to quit when the rain arrived.

Got the head of Justin's buck to skull mount for him. I put it under an empty molasses tub for the bugs to clean off.
