Finished prepping the garden yesterday. This is the quickest, throw down garden I’ve ever done. Not much time for it these days. Disked it up with the small tractor, ordered 10 yds of garden soil and topped off each row with it. Didn’t even till it in as my tiller needs a new engine. Used the single row hipper to mix it in somewhat. Got the cucumbers planted.

Made bread.

Did some weeding in the garden, then harvested all the remaining green onions.

Made a lemon cake with lemon frosting for the lil' gal down the road.

I seasoned up some pork country ribs that will I'll put on the smoker for supper. Mrs. Ranch is making 'twice baked' potatoes & some stuffed japs to go with them.

Cleaned/sanded/painted an old milk jog that I use this as a plant stand on the back porch.

Watered the hanging baskets on the porches.

I guess we are planting tomatoes and peppers today. My worker brought me some Trinidad Scorpion pepper seeds a few months back, so that should be interesting. Wife said her fingers were hot just from handling the seeds when she planted them.

The 3D part finished up yesterday. I’m running the machine 24/7 to get as much practice in as possible before I buy a big machine.

I apply 13-13-13 four times per season, once at planting, & then every 3 weeks until harvest. I also throw wood ashes on them.

As a rule of thumb, potato plants have a greater need for Nitrogen (N-P-K 34-0-0) during the first two months when the foliar part of the plant develops rapidly. From the second month until two weeks before harvest, the plants need more potassium (12-12-17 or 14-7-21).

It's been drizzling rain here since I woke up (0.89" thus far) It's also suppose to get windy later, so no garden work today...

Made Russian Tea Cakes for dessert. It's been a while since I made them last...
