Harvested the remaining half of the soybeans & processed them for vacuum packing/freezing. Between yesterday & today, we got 8 (10 ounce bags) in the freezer. Not a bad harvest at all this year.

Harvested 5 more cucumbers, 1 for us & the rest for our neighbors.

Brought up more potatoes & cleaned them for Mrs. Ranch.

Started arranging the library books on the shelves.

Made bread.

Made a German chocolate cake for our dessert.

Watered the garden, asparagus, trees, porch pots & hanging baskets. It's suppose to be 101 degrees this afternoon, with a heat index of 114 degrees.

Made 2 more peanut/sunflower seed blocks for the birds.

Put new license sticker on the truck.

Sprayed Triclopyr on the kudzu that is growing.

Refilled the chlorine reservoir for the septic system.

Seasoned up a pork sirloin roast for supper. When it's close, I'll throw in carrots, celery, potatoes & onions.

It's 103 degrees & the heat index is 115 degrees... The kudzu that I sprayed earlier is definitely hurting!!!

Dispatch a coon & a possum that were caught raiding our melon patch.

Watered the all trees, porch pots, hanging baskets & around the well house.

Pulled the battery out of the Gator & charged it as it was deader than a door nail. I expect the tractors will need to be charged as well...

Pounded in the fertilizer spikes under the drip line of the tress in the back yard.

Fed the cattle for the 1st time since my operation.

Replenished the salt pellets in the water softener. I need to spray the wasp nests before I can change the filter.

Harvested more jalapenos for Mrs. Ranch.

Put out another peanut/sunflower seed block for the birds.

Got a pot of pinto beans seasoned & soaking for tomorrow.

Fed the cattle.

Put the dye in the back tanks. Also dispersed copper sulfate in the front tank to kill the fibrous algae.

Sprayed the wasp nests in the well house so I can replace the water filter.

Seasoned up a thick beef sirloin that I put on the smoker for tonight's supper. It's hot down there, 103 degrees, with a heat index of 109 right now.

Watered the grass, all the trees, porch pots & hanging baskets.

Fed the cattle & put out a roll of hay.

R&R the power supply in Mrs. Ranch's computer. She's had an intermittent problem with it randomly restarting.

Selected the potatoes that I plan on planting in the fall garden & put them in the guest house to start the chitting process.

Continued watering the grass.

Went to the feed store to pickup sulphur/mineral blocks & molasses tubs for the cattle. I put them out as soon as I got back as it's not going to get any cooler...

Went to the feed store to pickup cattle feed & then fed them when I got home. Interestingly, I got stopped 4X by the police wanting me to pull off the road so a 25' wide load could pass. I ignored them as soon as they went to the next vehicle & made it to our road without a problem. Why are they (whoever they are) moving loads like this on public roads on a Saturday morning instead of at night???
