Made bread.

Watered the grass, all the trees, porch pots & hanging baskets. Our annual 'hotter-than-hell' week has commenced, suppose to be 104 degrees today.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

With the extreme heat,I water what is left in the garden [peas and okra] around 7;30 every morning. That is basically my day outside. The last two weeks i have had near misses with heat stroke. I now realize with my age, heat and high humidity is not good for my body. That's what my doctor keeps saying and tend to agree.

Continued trying to get the broken hinge pins out of the Weber Genesis gas grill. I ended up taking the thing apart & drilling them out on the drill press. I'll put it back together later as it way to hot now...

Speaking of heat. it's 103 degrees right now & the heat index is 110. I do believe it's margarita time!!!

Brought up more potatoes & cleaned them for Mrs. Ranch.

Completed the computer maintenance.

It's suppose to be 104 degrees again today, with a heat index of 112.

Fed the cattle.

Reassemble the top of the gas grill. There were some corrosion issues on some of the cheaply plated parts, so I cleaned them with acid & I'll just paint them instead for replacing them. Weber replacement parts are insanely priced, IMO.

learned from Dad decades ago... mustang, blackspanish and champenell were grapes we used
hit and miss w/peach...
those were fresh fruit wines ...mashed from the fruit
the kit wines I've done have all been very good...
pinot noir, malbec, white zinfandel and savingon blanc...all have been exellant but $
some were from Chile, Argentina and Cali...
those rival anything off the shelf, but less $ per bottle except your time...lol
Just got in a yeast that's super heat tolerent to get started w/the fig...
I have a building w/a small window unit, so I can keep it below mid80;s temps
it's where we(mostly me) make sausage, dried venison and wine

Welcome to the site. Left 2c years ago. I have learned lots on this site over the years. As a care provider I don’t have time to post a lot but I do check it occasionally.A friend dropped off shrimp yesterday, so it’s shrimp po-boys for supper.

Today's temperature is suppose to me the same as it has been... 104 degrees, with a heat index of 112.

Fed the cattle & put out another roll of hay.

Watered the front trees.

Found another leak in the well house so we put a call in the the well guys, who said they'd be here this afternoon. I brought the loader over to move the pile of select fill so that they could get their truck back there. I also had them bring me a new well house (the old one lasted 23 yrs. so I can't complain. UPDATE: the guys had to replace a galvanized nipple that developed a small hole in it.

Cleaned out the Weber gas grill & also the kettle charcoal grill with 'Easy Off'. This has been on my list of things to get done since spring. I still have to do the big smoker.

Today's temperature is suppose to be the same as it has been, except even windier (16MPH)... 103 degrees, with a heat index of 111.

Cleaned/refilled the bird's water trough.

Finished cleaning & reassembly of the grills. Then wiped them down with mineral oil. I was sweating like a pig by the time I was through, so I declared an early margarita time.
