As we have leftover ricotta cheese, we decided to make stuffed Manicotti today. I started by harvesting some swiss chard from the garden & got it steaming, then made the pasta dough.
Ordered a bunch of pepper seeds. I’m going to grow out 100 plants and make smoked/dried seasoning with them. We did this years ago and it was really good. Going to try to sell it and see what happens.
Cut the front/side yard grass to get the oil hot in the garden tractor & then changed the oil/filter. Removed the deck & cleaned it (not bad) prior to spraying a couple of coats of 'Mo-Deck' on the underside. When it's dry (probably tomorrow), I'll finish by installing the new blades & grass deflector on it.
Installed the new blades, greased the spindles & waxed the mower deck on the garden tractor. Upon inspecting the belts, I need to get new ones tomorrow.
Water the flats in the greenhouse. The basil is starting to pop up!!!
Went to town to buy the replacement belts for the garden tractor, then installed them when I got home, Reinstalled & leveled the mower deck. Ops check good. That concludes this lil' project so my Jeep in back in the garage.
Fixed the ice maker as the water line froze up again.
Refilled the redbird feeders & put up another suet block.
Finished the 2nd lower after receiving the necessary parts. I then mated the halves together & will do an ops check before adding the optics. Both of these are higher match-grade guns.
Yep, it's looking like a pretty nasty week... especially Monday. This will be the second coldest night in 29 years (the worst one was 6 degrees)... still balmy compared to N. Datoka standards... It's currently 32 degrees.
Put the new state license sticker on my Jeep.
Turn the heat lamp on in the well house.
Watered all the flats in the greenhouse. Everything is up!!!
UPDATE: Now they are forecasting a high of 20 degrees & a low of 2 degrees for Monday with winds NNW at 15 to 25 mph & the chance of snow at 60%. The wind chill is going to be BAD!!!
It's only 33 here right now, but most of the day has been below freezing...

Finished up preparations for the big freeze. Spent a little extra time wrapping up the philodendron plant. I have a 1000 watt bulb lit up underneath it. Last time this plant took a hit, it took forever for it to recover.
