It's going to be nasty here this week, but it's been 32 yrs since we last viewed Minot in our rearview mirrors. We still don't miss it (especially me, LOL!!!).

It was 32 degrees this morning.

I planned on having an oil/lube job & an mechanical inspection done on my Jeep this morning but the front gate only partially opened so I couldn't get out. I pulled the batteries on all the gates & disconnected the hydraulic cylinders so I could go buy 3 new batteries. When I got home & I charged them & got them installed.

It was 50 degrees this morning. About 1600 hrs, the wind will shift to the north as the cold front pushes through. Tomorrow's weather will be much different & we will be holed up for the next few days. Currently it's 68 degrees with intermittent sprinkles of rain (0.18" thus far).
Tomorrow 02/19: Cloudy and windy in the morning, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. High near 35F. Winds N at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Tomorrow Night 02/19: Clear skies. Near record low temperatures. Low 21F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph.

Made bread rolls to go along with our soup.

Watered everything in the greenhouse & refilled the water tank.

Refilled all the bird feeders & put out new seed & suet blocks for them.

Grandson came to feed the cattle & to have a bite to eat as mom & his sister are in Georgetown for another playoff game & dad's still at work... We love seeing him & his sister grow up!!! We are blessed!!!

It was a breezy 60 degrees this morning.

Started hand cleaning the garden, I need to get at least 2 rows done for the potatoes. Fire would have been quicker but the wind was too high for that...

Made ranch rice.

Went for my 6 month eye checkup, she said I still don't need glasses & that I was good to go for the next year!!!

Prepped & smoked 2 racks of spare ribs for 2 special women in our lives (SIL & grandson went to the deer lease for the weekend). Also made a big pot of green beans & Mrs Ranch made macaroni salad for them as well. That should hold them for a couple of days, especially since the granddaughter has 2 varsity softball games today.

It's a windy 69 degrees, with a light rain (0.24" thus far). The cold front arrived ~0830 hrs, the temperature dropped to 53 in a short 45 minutes, so I had to closed the greenhouse. UPDATE: By 1200 hrs. the rain stopped & the sun came out, raising the temp back up to 74 degrees, so I opened it back up. In doing so, I found that the wind ripped one of the roof vents off...

Woke up to find the winds last night tore off a couple of the roof panels of the greenhouse... Replacements are no longer available & fabricating them is cost prohibitive, so I'm looking for a new one. In the meantime, I'll cover the holes with tin scraps from the SIL's shop build.

Move the plants out of the greenhouse, onto the respective porches. The only thing left in there is the flats with the vegetable seedlings.

Fed the cattle, then pen them to cut out the one bull for pickup. Luckily it was relatively easy & he was on his way to his new home by 1430 hours. I noticed that we have our first calf of the year (another lil' bubba).
